CONNECTING PLACES PROJECT CONTINUES APACE
The ‘Connecting Places Project’, currently being implemented by East Ayrshire Council, has moved into its next phase. The scheme, which aims to improve the street environment with upgraded lighting and pedestrian areas, has recently started at the Railway Station and West George Street area. This includes Langland Brae, West George Street, Garden Street and Portland Street.

The Council has agreed to a public consultation exercise on a review of the Scheme. A Review Information Pack will be available for inspection at Local Offices/Libraries throughout East Ayrshire as well as Council Headquarters, London Road, Kilmarnock or from the links below. PICK A PARK COMES TO MUIRKIRK
East Ayrshire Council is inviting local groups, businesses and individuals to join in a litter clean at Victory Park, Muirkirk on Saturday 28 August from 9am to 11am.

A71 ROAD REPAIRS TO COMMENCE
Resurfacing works are due to commence on the section of the A71 between Moorfield Roundabout and Corsehill Roundabout.
The repairs are required after the section of road suffered badly as a result of the previous severe winter.
During the spring and early summer the speed on this section of road was reduced to 50 mph for safety reasons until the repairs could be organised and financed.

IMPROVEMENT WORKS ON A76
Transport Scotland and Amey Highways will be delivering a £1.6 million improvement scheme to the A76 at Mauchline.
This significant investment will:
upgrade almost one mile of the A76. renew the road surface. improve drainage. provide landscape renewal.The work will start on-site on 12th July to coincide with the school summer holidays and, weather permitting, last a total of 10 weeks. A finish date of 27th September is anticipated.

A76 Mauchline: £1.6m Essential Reconstruction Project Begins
Essential reconstruction works in the village of Mauchline get underway on Monday 12 July for 10 weeks. This £1.6m Transport Scotland investment, designed by trunk road managers Amey, will see the delivery of 1.7km of resurfacing, drainage and landscaping works on this busy section of the A76.
